  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 12 oz (1 block) cream cheese, softened
  • 56 cups powdered sugar, sifted
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • 12 tablespoons plant-based heavy cream (option for fluffier texture)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two round cake pans.
  2. Sift together flour, baking soda, cocoa powder, and salt in a bowl.
  3. In another bowl, whisk vegetable oil, buttermilk, eggs, red food coloring, vanilla extract, and vinegar until well combined.
  4. Gradually mix wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just smooth.
  5. Divide the batter between prepared pans and bake for 28-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Cool cakes in pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
