  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 4 cups apples (cored, peeled, sliced)
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 4 tbsp honey (or maple syrup)
  • 3/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp cornstarch (mixed with 12 tbsp of water)
  • 2 tbsp demerara sugar
  • 9 tbsp caramel sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Lightly flour a clean surface and roll out the puff pastry slightly.
  3. Cut the pastry into 9 even rectangles and score an inner rectangle on each piece without cutting through.
  4. Refrigerate the prepared pastries while you make the apple filling.
  5. In a mixing bowl, combine sliced apples with brown sugar, honey, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and cornstarch mixed with water until well-coated.
  6. Spoon the apple mixture into each pastry rectangle.
  7. Bake for approximately 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Drizzle with caramel sauce before serving.
