  • 1 lb beef tenderloin or ribeye, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: green onions, sesame seeds, lettuce leaves, cooked rice, assorted vegetables (bell peppers, carrots, onions)

Instructions

  1. Slice the beef thinly; freezing it slightly can help.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and black pepper.
  3. Add beef to the marinade and coat well. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes; overnight is best.
  4. Preheat grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Remove beef from marinade (discard leftover marinade).
  5. Cook in small batches for 2-3 minutes per side until browned.
  6. Optionally add vegetables during the last minute of cooking.
  7. Serve with sesame seeds and green onions on top.
