Ingredients

  • Favorite Cake Mix or Wilton’s Chocolate Cake Recipe
  • Store Bought Chocolate Cookies
  • Sugar Cones
  • Creamy White Decorator Icing, 4 lb. Tub
  • Lemon Yellow Icing Color
  • Black Color Mist Food Coloring Spray
  • Rose Icing Colors Pink Food Coloring
  • Violet Icing Color, Gel Food Coloring
  • Golden Yellow Icing Color
  • Orange Icing Color

Instructions

  1. Prepare cake mix according to your chosen recipe's instructions.
  2. Place the Cupcake Cones Baking Rack on a cookie sheet.
  3. Insert sugar cones into the rack and fill each cone with 2 tablespoons of cake batter.
  4. Bake and cool according to the timing instructions provided in your recipe.
  5. Trim any risen cake from the top of each cone with a knife.
  6. Place cones wide side down on parchment paper.
  7. Using Black Color Mist, spray each cone thoroughly until covered.
  8. Allow them to dry for about 10 to 15 minutes.
  9. Tint 1 cup of creamy white decorator icing orange.
  10. Combine violet and rose icing colors to tint another cup purple.
  11. Prepare two decorating bags with tip 2B; fill one with orange icing and one with purple icing.
  12. Combine golden yellow and lemon yellow colors to tint ¼ cup of creamy white decorator icing; place it in a bag fitted with tip 3.
  13. Pipe a small amount of orange icing in the center of each cookie and place a cone on top.
  14. Pipe a band around the wide end of half the cones using orange icing; smooth it with a spatula.
  15. Repeat this process using purple icing on the remaining cookies and cones.
  16. Allow setting for about 15 to 20 minutes before piping yellow icing around the band as a buckle.
  17. Let set for another 15 to 20 minutes before serving.
