  • 1 cup chopped maraschino cherries, drained

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare an 8-inch round cake pan with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time, then add almond extract.
  4. In another bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, and salt; gradually mix into the wet ingredients.
  5. Fold in ground almonds and chopped cherries gently.
